This solution is delivered via two application;

1. CIMSability:catering for both Business Services and the Disability Employment Network agencies. CIMSability can manage an unlimited number of programs and maintains all client and activity driven data, enabling CIMSability as an organisation wide solution.

2. Microsoft Dynamics NAV: is a powerful financials application making it highly suitable for stringent department requirements of the industry, additionally, Liveware Solutions has developed a series of specalised features into NAV for Disability Services organisations:

  • CIMSability Integration; by integrating CIMSability to NAV at a client ID level; all financial activity within NAV is tagged with client information which delivers a business intelligence capabilitye.g. a Statement of Financial Performance by client ID.

  • Recurring Invoicing; the ability to configure invoice templates for recurring billing.

  • Human Resources; the Human Resource modules has received industry specific upgrades for the management of employee qualifications, the planning and execution of employee appraisels,  industry specific additional contact information and the ability to manage multiple supervisory points i.e. employees can have multiple supervisory depending by department.

  • Payroll; the ability to configure and execute employee payroll data across multiple departments, the ability to register in advanced annual leave and other absences into the payroll calculations, performance of multiple payrolls from the one database, a variety of industry statutory reporting.

Our case study focuses on The Mai-Wel Group in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. As a joint venture partner in CIMSability, the next phase in the establishment of a complete business software solution for the industry was to deploy Microsoft Dynamics NAV. As expected; upgrading to NAV delivered systemic improvement across the organisation; the key benefits being;

  • Improved Efficiency; NAV brought together all processing into the one application replacing the existing financials package, a variety of Excel spreadsheets, separate payroll package and inventory management programs involved in the sheltered workshop businesses. One of the biggest administrative headaches the department processing and reporting requirements given Mai-Wel's many activities. NAV has the broad functionality to cater for all aspects of the administration (for example; financials, fixed assets, inventory, human resources, payroll) combined with the structural ability to easily segregate the administration by their respective departments providing instantaneous reporting and analysis.

  • Increased Business Intelligence; the ability to instantaneously draw upon analysis at a department and client ID level has proved a quantum leap by eliminating the need for manipulation of information outside the business application i.e. the replacement of Excel worksheets. Mai-Wel are now receiving immediate, segmented, meaningful data by department, by client.

  • Inventory Management;  One of the businesses within The Mai-Wel Group is Pace Setters,  a manufacturer of timber and metal products. By incorporating this business into the NAV administration, the integrity of inventory data (stock levels, pricing, procurement) has significantly improved. Over the coming months, Mai-Wel will look to other opportunities to role peripheral activities into the NAV administration.
